COMPOUND AND COMPLEX SENTENCES
A compound-complex sentence is made from two independent clauses and one or more dependent clauses.

Examples:

 
1.    Although I love to go dancing, I haven't had the time to go early, and I haven't found anyone to go with.



    independent clause: "I haven't had the time to go early "
    independent clause: "I haven't found anyone to go with"
    dependent clause: "Although I love to go dancing... "


2.      Almost of people like Hollywood film, I haven’t had reason to do so, and Iwas very bored with it.

Independent clause     : “ I haven’t had reason to do so”
Independent clause     : “ I was very bored with it”
Dependent clause        : “ Almost of people like Hollywood film”   

COMPLEX SENTENCE


COMPLEX SENTENCES
A complex sentence contains an independent clause and at least one dependent clause. An independent clause can stand alone as a sentence and makes a complete thought and a dependent clause can not stand alone, even though it has a subject and a verb.

examples :
1.      Though she has everything that she need, she still famine now.
2.      Rina return the book, after she knew that it was Rudi’s.
3.      The story, though was very short, but very interest.
4.      Shah Rukh Khan was my favorite actor, though lot of my friends insult.
5.      The museum was very interesting as I expected.
6.       Because he is rich, people make allowance for his idiosyncrasies.
7.       The professional who had been thoroughly trained was at a loss to explain.

COMPOUND SENTENCE


COMPOUND SENTENCES

A compound sentence has two independent clauses or sentences. The independent clauses can be joined by a coordinating conjunction (such as "and," "for" and "but") or a semicolon.

E.g ;
1.      He think will get the red clothes, or he will get the white one.
2.      Cats are good pets, for they are clean and are not noisy.
3.      It was a beauty season, and she never came.
4.      We have never been to India, nor have we visited Saudi Arabia.
5.      I really want to go to work, but I am too sick to drive.

Present participle, past participle, perfect participle

1) present participle

The present participle is often used when we want to express an active action.
In English we add -ing to the infinitive of the verb.

Use of the present participle

Progressive/
Continuous tense
He is reading a book.
He was reading a book.
Gerund Reading books is fun.
He likes reading books.
Participle Look at the reading boy.
He came reading around the corner.
He sat reading in the corner.
I saw him reading.

2-1) past participle

The present participle is often used when we want to express a passive action.
In English we add -ed to the infinitive of regular verbs. We use the 3rd column of the table of the irregular verbs.

Use of the past participle

Perfect tenses He has forgotten the pencil.
He had forgotten the pencil.
Passive voice A house is built.
A house was built.
Participle Look at the washed car.
The car washed yesterday is blue.
He had his car washed.

2-2) Compounds with the past participle

This combination is also known as perfect participle. It is used to form an active sentence with the past participle. There is a time gap between the actions.
past participle and having

Having read the book the boy came out of the room. One action happened after the other.
present participle
The boy came reading out of the room. Both actions happened at the same time.
